Everyone's Best Mate

Henrietta Knight is one of the most succesful female trainers ever at Cheltenham and her pride and joy was the punters favourite Best Mate, who won a unprecedented three consecutive Gold Cups betweem 2002 - 2004. Ridden with entusiasm by journeyman jockey Jim Culloty, Best Mate became Cheltenham's very own Red Rum, before his sudden and tragic death during a race at Exeter in 2006.
